Operations

The operations department is responsible for ensuring that the boat is ready to go for our user groups. This involves cleaning, fuelling and filling the water tanks. 

The operations volunteers meet each user group to hand over the boat and see them off safely. During their trip we are on call to go out to help if they encounter difficulties or mechanical problems. At the end of each cruise we meet them and check the boat back in to our base.

For day trips, or longer cruises, where the users are not able to meet the training requirements, we will try to provide qualified volunteer helmsmen to run the boat.

While boat experience is always welcome, enthusiasm is the key asset. We are very happy to offer training to new volunteers within traveling distance of the base at Abbots Langley, near Watford
