January 2012
A very happy new year to you from Dick's Folly and crew.
In between the celebrations, the committee received the plans
for the new 60 foot boat and
with a click of a mouse forwarded them on for our regular users
to study and for their all important comments on the layout and
design. The feedback was extremely helpful and put to good use
when in early January, Starline Marine visited the Project's
Hunton Bridge base to see how the refitted Dick's Folly is
functioning and for our second discussion on what will and won't
work for the new boat. Later in the month all the strands of
this meeting and the update on the landing stage will be brought
together in order for us to move on one stage further.

Fundraising:
Did you make a New Year's Resolution? No? Well how about taking
up one to help the Project? Can you help the Project with fund
raising, we need a number of energetic people who will take up
the challenge to raise money for us. Every £1 counts and we
appreciate any and every effort that is made. Whether just one
individual, a company or group, I am very happy to meet you and
discuss how you can help the Project which in turn helps the
community make maximum use of the boat(s).

A to Z of tasks:
Last month I started to unmask the unsung champions who are the
mainstay of the Project. Here are a few more:
K is for the Delrow Knitters; a small group of ladies
who have knitted red and green scarves which have adorned the
Project's fundraising Teddies [see
this page for pictures
of the Teddies].
T is for Treasurer Robert by name making sure the
Project's books are balanced and its financial future sound. T
is also for Training for which Peter L makes sure we have access
to courses and are all competent in our roles.
